A
lot of people wonder to know what the word ''HANDLER'' means.
To me as a professional, to be a dog ''handler'' means to reunite
certain indispensable requirements. Among them the first and
more important thing is the love and respect towards the animal.
It is very important to look after its emotional and physical
well-being.
From
the moment I am hired and I get in touch with your pet, I begin
to feel it and handle it as if it were my own dog. I must achive
a fusion between both of us because I know that it is the only
way to get the objectives that we, the owner and me, want.
This
is obtained with love, patience and without presions. Other
important thing is to play a lot in the first stage of discipline
training as with this attitude I asured a good training in the
future. Education must be slow, respecting the times of each
animal as each breed and each age have a tipical temperament.
I value these things a lot and I can asure that ''the essence
of the dog must be valued, not changed, but molded''. During
the classes the dog must work relaxed and happy so at the time
to be presented in a show it looks natural and professional
at the same time. Another fundamental requirement is experience
and knowledge (these ones, unfortunatelly you can't get them
at a canine school)...
